How to Submit and Verify Blog to Google Webmaster Tools

Register or verify blog in Google Webmaster Tools is a semi-refinement stage that will be undertaken after adding URL to Google.

The goal to register into the Google Webmaster Tools is for verifying ownership that indicates your own blog with a particular code. The most common verification code in use on the blogspot is usually html meta tags. Meta tags will serve as a marker for ownership of your blog in the crawl and index on the SERP (Search Engine Result Pages), so if your blog is listed in Google Webmaster Tools, then it is more likely to appear on search results pages.

There are many useful features that you can use at the webmaster tools page, but I will not explain here, because later on after you have registered in Google Webmaster Tools, you'll also find them out yourself.
The following are the steps to register and verify your blog on Google Webmaster Tools:
  •     Log in to Google Webmaster Tools
  •     Enter the URL of your blog. For example http://dailytechnow.blogspot.com
  •     Click "Add a site".
  •     Click "Verify your site"
  •     Next on the "Choose verification method" select "Add a meta tag", it will display the html meta tag code for your blog
  •     Copy the meta tag that appears earlier and place it on your blog template.
    • How to: log into blogger.com with your account -> Select the Dashboard -> Design -> Edit html Check Expand widget templates -> Paste the meta tags google webmaster <head> was right after the code -> Save Template
  •     Back to Google Webmaster Tools page, click Verify. Succes message appears.
Now your account and your blog has been successfully registered and was verified in Google Webmaster Tools.

The next steps a refinement of Google access in crawling your blog for the whole page to make it easier, Google requires
sitemap of your blog to know automatically whenever a new update has been made on your blog. For that  requirement, you need to submit a sitemap to Google Webmaster Tools. See the next post.
